Your Campervan Road Trip - Buxton, Peak District

There are plenty of things to do in the Peak District. We all know that already don't we?

But everyone has some preferred spots, some favourite walks, some hidden places.

We want to share ours with you but in a slightly different way than the usual lists. We're going to organise our things to do in the Peaks into planned days out.

Get into your converted campervan, hit the road and enjoy these things to do in Buxton.

A Day Out near Buxton

A walk, a wild swim and some pretty gardens all feature in our guide of things to do in Buxton.

Parking - Clough House Car Park

A stunning walk through lush fields, valleys and waterways leading to the equally stunning Three Shires Bridge.

When you get there you'll be delighted to find a number of small pools to take a dip in! The water may be a little cold but it really is invigorating and the perfect place to pause for a snack even if you don't brave the water.

Looks tempting hey?

After drying off and completing the walk we recommend heading into Buxton for a little more walking or to the gardens there.

Alternatively head the other way to the charming village of Wincle where you can visit one of the most picturesque breweries in the country.

A Little Gem in Wincle

There is a quieter spot for wild swimming in a deeper section of the River Dane (check out our map for the exact location) so the day is gorgeous you might want to strip down to your swimwear once again.

Afterwards make sure you reward yourselves with a trip to the stunning Wincle Brewery.

In and Around Buxton

We think there are two stand out attractions in Buxton itself. There are definitely more... but these are our favourites.

Park the campervan at the entrance to Poole's Cavern (postcode SK17 9DH) and wind your way up to the temple.

Why?

The stunning views across Mam Tor and Kinder Scout on a nice day.

Some of us like a nosey around the local towns to see what the shops have to offer and pick up some delicacies.

Buxton isn't the prettiest of the Peak District towns but there are a number of worthwhile shops to nip in to.

While you are there definitely check out the Pavilion Gardens.

There you go... no excuse not to have a wonderful day out in the Peaks now.

Here is one day of your next campervan trip covered.
